Functional Anatomy
Functional anatomy teaches students to locate and identify all musculo-skeletal structures relevant to movement and exercise. Detailed study of the bones, connective tissues and muscles will complement postural assessment, muscle testing/palpation and analysis of human movement. Some time will be spent understanding other pathologies of the body; respiratory, circulatory, and nervous system, plus we cover a section on nutrition and the digestive system.
The course format will be comprised of lecture, discussion and practical sessions that involve visual & manual identification of body structures. Our goal is to provide the student with a functional learning environment. This course is open to anyone wanting to know more about the human body. It is designed with the mind/body health practitioner in mind.
